Introduction
The Chinese Lexical Semantic Workshop (CLSW) is jointly initiated by Professor Chin-Chuan Cheng, Academician of Academia Sinica and Chair Professor of the University of Illinois, Professor Shiwen Yu of Peking University, and Professor Chu-ren Huang, Chair Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Since the first workshop in 2000, CLSW has been held in different Asian cities, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, Singapore, Xiamen, Hsin Chu, Yantai, Suzhou, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Macao, Leshan, Jiayi, Nanjing, Fuzhou. Over the years, CLSW has become one of the most important venues for scholars to report and discuss the latest progress in Chinese Lexical Semantics and related fields, including Theoretical Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computational Lexicography, Phycological Linguistics, and Sociological linguistics. CLSW has significantly impacted and promoted academic research and application development in the fields.
The 25th Chinese Lexical Semantic Workshop will be held from May 31 to June 2, 2024, at Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College in China. This conference is jointly organized by the Cross-Strait Language Application and Narrative Culture Research Center of Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College, the College of Humanities and Communication of Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College, the National Language Resource Monitoring and Research Center of Education Materials of Xiamen University, and the Language and Script Application Research Institute of the Ministry of Education. The organizers sincerely invite researchers to contribute their work.
Conference Topics
CLSW welcomes submissions on any aspect of Chinese lexical semantics in general, as well as related fields more broadly concerned with language. It aims to cover a wide range of research topics including, but not limited to, the following:
- Ontological studies of Chinese lexical semantics (modern Chinese vocabulary, semantic issues, etc.)
- Applied research in Chinese lexical semantics (language education, linguistic planning, language services, lexicography, dictionary science, terminology research, etc.)
- Construction and research methodologies of Chinese lexical semantic resources (building various Chinese lexical semantic corpora, theories and practices in semantic annotation, computation and application of Chinese lexical semantics, etc.)
- Interdisciplinary research and applications in Chinese lexical semantics (artificial intelligence, digital humanities, psycholinguistics, cultural anthropology, etc.)
- Other relevant studies in Chinese lexical semantics.

Submission Guidelines

- Submissions can be long abstracts (4-6 pages) or full papers (8-15 pages) written in either Chinese or English.

- Authors must submit electronic files formatted as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. (Template files: English Template,Chinese Template)

- All submissions for review must be anonymous. Information that may reveal the identities of the authors must be removed from the draft.

- An author may submit at most one single-author or first-author paper.

Publication and Best Paper
Accepted papers will be included in workshop proceedings. After the conference, the program committee will select high-quality papers to be included in post-conference proceedings. The authors of selected papers will be required to submit papers in English for a second review, after which the proceedings will be published by Springer in the LNAI series, enter EI, SCOPUS and other indexings, and be included in Google Scholar academic publications statistics.
In addition, excellent papers from the workshop will be recommended for consideration for publication in leading journals such as the Journal of Zhengzhou University(Natural Science Edition), Lingua Sinica, The International Journal of Knowledge and Language Processing (IJKLP), International Journal of Asian Language Processing(IJALP), etc.
The top-ranking papers will receive the Best Paper Awards.
